Important pair of cases or columns in marquetry of precious wood. French work from around 1900. Decorated with finely chiselled gilt bronze on their uprights and footfalls, featuring motifs of foliage and scrolls. Column or case with elegant Louis XV style ornamentation. Each topped with a square, removable, intact ecru marble. Offering a stable and luxurious surface. Marble thickness: 2.5 cm. Marble length: 24 cm. Note some veneer losses in places, see photo. The base rests on curved feet, finished with bronze hooves. Perfect stability. Curved and elongated silhouette slightly flaring at the centre before narrowing towards a undulating base. This sinuous shape brings a visual lightness despite the object's solidity. They are adorned with rich rosewood and precious wood marquetry, arranged in leaves within frames. The decoration is highlighted by marquetry fillets, with dotted patterns, creating circular medallions and geometric reserves that structure the façade. Beautifully crafted. They are designed to display busts, sculptures, or precious vases. Please feel free to contact me for more information, and add us to your favourites to follow our latest updates!.
