Mahogany commode from the Louis XVI period, featuring an elegant moulded front with a slight central projection, highlighting the architectural rigor characteristic of this era. It opens with three large front drawers, each adorned with drop handles in brass and heart-shaped keyholes, complete with a functional key and lock. A discreet dust cover separates the drawers, ensuring the preservation of the contents while enhancing the quality of craftsmanship. The square, fluted legs end simply in slightly raised square feet, providing the piece with a stable base and an elongated appearance. The whole is crowned with a grey-blue breccia marble, whose projections at the front and sides precisely follow the lines of the piece, emphasising the harmony between structure and ornamentation. This piece accurately embodies the classic elegance and artisanal mastery of the 18th century. Period: 18th century. Excellent condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshop. Marble restored. Finish: waxed.
