Large trumeau mirror in carved solid wood, probably walnut and oak, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The frame features classic architecture with a cornice of overlapping mouldings, a frieze adorned with rosettes in medallions alternating with geometric motifs in a diabolo shape. The side posts consist of fluted pilasters flanked by turned balusters in the shape of urns on bases with dentils, characteristic of the French neo-Renaissance style. The upper corners are marked by diamond-pointed panels. The period glass is bevelled at the edges. It has a diagonal crack in the lower right part as well as micro-pitting of the silvering due to the natural aging of the mirror — elements that attest to its antiquity and authenticity. The finish is either wax or warm brown tinted varnish that highlights the carvings. In good overall condition considering the wear of time, the structure is solid and the whole remains decorative and functional. Dimensions: 150 cm in height × 96 cm in width × 8 cm in depth. Weight: approximately 50 kg.
