Mirror from an old wardrobe door, with an oak frame. Brown oak with a waxed patina. Rectangular bevelled glass, framed by a fine moulding. The left stile, which served as a door stop, features a carved strip with a continuous pattern of interlocking scales and a brass keyhole with floral and scroll decorations. The back, closed with a wooden panel, protects the reverse of the glass and retains a long metal hinge. Likely French manufacture, late 19th or early 20th century. The dressing mirror became popular in bourgeois interiors during the 19th century, and its doors, once separated from the furniture, are now suitable for use as a full-length mirror. This mirror can find its place in an entrance, a bedroom, or a dressing room, either leaning against a wall or fixed. The patinated oak and the carved strip can suit a bohemian chic or wabi-sabi decor as well as a more minimalist interior. Height: 1m34, width: 49 cm, depth: 4 cm; Weight: 12 kg. Generally in good condition, with a marked patina, scratches, and a worn lower corner on the frame. Glass with numerous small spots from the backing, not affecting the reflection.
