Giandomenico Belotti Fly Line lounge chair for CMP Padova, Italy 1980
Special Italian lounge chair by Giandomenico Belotti for CMP Padova, made as part of the Fly Line series. The armchair consists of a minimalist black lacquered metal tubular frame with a seat and backrest of tightly stretched black plastic cords. The transparent construction gives the armchair a striking graphic character and ensures that the rather large model remains visually very light. A nice detail is the adjustable backrest, which allows the seating position to be adjusted. The slanted seat and open construction make it a distinctive lounge chair, while the rhythm of the fine black cords creates a different play of lines from every angle. The armchair is in neat original vintage condition. The cords are complete, supple and neat and are well tensioned. The black lacquered metal frame shows light signs of use appropriate to age and use. Dimensions are as follows: height 71 cm, width 63 cm, depth 63 cm. Seat height 35 cm. Carefully selected vintage design. Where necessary, professionally restored, with respect for the original design, craftsmanship and materials used.
