Double bed from the Art Nouveau period – Carved mahogany – Relief flowers

Double bed from the Art Nouveau period, circa 1895-1910, made of solid mahogany and mahogany veneer with a slightly wavy satin grain. Headboard height of 145 cm, crowned with a carved bouquet of flowers in high relief – lily or iris – extended with stems and foliage integrated into the sinuous lines of the posts; corners adorned with acanthus leaves with deep cutouts. Footboard height of 80 cm, echoing the decorative vocabulary with a central medallion in a rounded triangle housing a flower on a stem with lobed leaves, framed by moulded bands with fluid curves. Quality of execution characteristic of the Art Nouveau production from the École de Nancy or the high-end Parisian manufacture of this period. Some natural micro-cracks on the joints, attesting to the age of the piece. Overall condition rated as very good by workshop assessment. Sold without slats or mattress – designed for slats and mattress measuring 190 x 140 cm. Dimensions: width 200 cm, depth 160 cm, headboard height 145 cm, footboard height 80 cm. Weight: 60 kg.
