Pierre Jeanneret Original Armchair SI-26-C / Writing Chair, Mid-Century Modern

This iconic and very rare original SI-26-C / writing chair by the legendary designer Pierre Jeanneret. Made of solid teak with a shelf under the seat. An armrest with a small writing space. Authentic mid-century piece. With its raw simplicity it shows the true strength of simplicity like many of Jeanneret's designs for the Chanidharh project. Jeanneret was commissioned by the city of Chandigarh, India, to build and design for the Punjab University Administrative buildings and a few private residences. Provenance: Sourced from gallery Fiftiesdesign in Brest, who imported the furniture from India in 1999. Bought by photographer Kalle Gustafsson / Galerie Maison Première. The collection has been examined by renowned swedish furniture conservator and restorator Jon Bjellerup and Ulf Brunne. Document is provided. This item has been renovated, smaller damages - normal wear due to age and use. Smaller damages due to age.
