Magnificent solid wood chair from German folk furniture (Bauernstuhl), dating precisely from 1814. This authentic piece likely comes from Southern Germany or German-speaking Switzerland. Visible history: The backrest is adorned with a naive heart-shaped carving and bears the engraved initials "MSCHAM" (or MSCHAK) as well as the date "1814", attesting to its family and rural origin. Solid wood (walnut or oak) with a dark natural patina, a sign of its age and daily use in the 19th century. Rustic and timeless design, perfect for adding a touch of soul and character to a contemporary interior, an entrance, or a reading nook. Overall good condition for its age (over 200 years). Normal signs of wear (patina, small marks) that add to the charm of the object. Stable structure. No intrusive modern restoration. Dimensions: L42 X H88 X D36 cm. Seat height 45 cm.
