A vintage italian ceramic vase with a colorful geometric patern, by alvino bagni. Polychrome glazed geometric pattern on a cold painted black background. Alvino bagni (1919-2009) was an italian ceramicist and designer. He was born in lastra a signa, italy, and began his career as a ceramist at a young age. He apprenticed with arnaldo pugi, a renowned ceramicist, and opened his own workshop in 1947. Bagni's work was characterized by its bold colors, geometric designs, and innovative use of materials. He was influenced by the italian mid-century modern movement, and his work often featured abstract and minimalist forms. He also produced a number of functional objects, such as vases, bowls, and lamps. Bagni's work was exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, and he won numerous awards for his design work. He was also a member of the italian association of industrial designers (adi). In addition to his work as a ceramist, bagni also designed furniture and lighting fixtures. He collaborated with a number of italian furniture companies, including bitossi, raymor, and tacchini. His furniture was known for its sleek lines and minimalist forms. Very good condition, no cracks or chips. May show some normal signs of wear consistent with age and use like scruffs on the cold painted black background.
