Victorian Hairdresser in Amboyna and Ebony Restored

We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent dressing table from the Aesthetic Movement, handmade in England around 1880 from Amboyna and ebony wood, fully restored. This classic English piece from the Aesthetic Movement features sublime wood grains with a contrast between light and dark colours. It includes five drawers: two small ones for jewellery or trinkets at the top and three large drawers at the base. The mirror is adjustable, and the top is made of solid marble. The piece can be disassembled into two parts for easier transport. The dressing table has been fully restored by a French wax specialist, with repairs to missing parts and work done on the marble. The entire wood has been lightly stripped and polished, offering an exquisite condition. The dimensions are: total height 155 cm, height of the top 78 cm, width 100 cm, depth 53.5 cm. The leg space measures 62 cm high by 61 cm wide. The condition is good, with wear consistent with its age and use.
