Superb neoclassical planter or cache-pot in patinated brass from the 19th century. An elegant oval planter/cache-pot/container in patinated brass from the late 19th century. Beautifully adorned with repoussé decoration featuring flowing garlands of fruits and leaves that extend around the body. The design exhibits a strong neoclassical style, influenced by the forms and atmosphere of Art Nouveau. Its shape is both decorative and architectural. Fine, upright handles rise from each side, their silhouettes adding lightness and grandeur to the piece. Four fixed feet slightly elevate the object from the surface. The interior shows signs of use and aging. It is in good original condition, with a desirable rich patina on the brass.
