Salt-glazed stoneware wall plaque from Betschdorf – Fortuné Schmitter

Beautiful decorative wall plaque made of genuine salt-glazed stoneware from Betschdorf, signed by Fortuné Schmitter. It features a stunning relief design in magnificent cobalt blue tones on a light grey background, depicting a stylised bird surrounded by flowers, foliage, and decorative swirls. The decoration is particularly intricate, with numerous finely incised details highlighted in cobalt blue, as well as a wavy border typical of Betschdorf pottery designs. On the reverse, the piece bears the signature "Fortuné Schmitter" as well as the stamp "Genuine Betschdorf – Salt-glazed Stoneware". It has a hanging system on the back and is intended to be displayed on the wall. A beautiful piece of Alsatian craftsmanship, particularly decorative, ideal for vintage, regional decor or a collection of Betschdorf stoneware. Dimensions: 24 × 24 cm. In very good overall condition.
