Salt-glazed stoneware wall plaque from Betschdorf – Fortuné Schmitter

Beautiful decorative wall plaque made of genuine salt-glazed stoneware from Betschdorf, signed by Fortuné Schmitter. Stunning relief decoration created in magnificent cobalt blue tones on a light grey background, featuring a large central flower surrounded by stylised flowers, scrolls, and small heart-shaped motifs. The decoration, particularly intricate, showcases numerous engraved details enhanced with cobalt blue, typical of the traditional craftsmanship of Betschdorf. On the reverse, the piece bears the signature "Fortuné Schmitter" as well as the stamp "Genuine Betschdorf – Salt-glazed Stoneware". It has its hanging system on the back and is intended to be displayed on the wall. A beautiful piece of Alsatian craftsmanship, ideal for vintage, regional decoration or a collection of Betschdorf stoneware. In very good overall condition.
