Victorian Chesterfield leather captain's chair

We are delighted to offer for sale this beautiful original Chesterfield captain's chair, handmade in England around 1880. In burgundy leather (oxblood) with a period oak swivel base. The chair is finely carved from English oak and extremely decorative. Dimensions: height 85.5 cm, width 64 cm, depth 66.5 cm, seat height 49 cm. This piece is in good condition with normal patina related to age and use, including typical signs of wear associated with old leather. We recommend regular maintenance with polishing to preserve the moisture of the leather. Hand-dyed leather, it is advisable not to expose it to sunlight for long periods to avoid drying out and discolouration.
