Antique George Hepplewhite captain's chair 1880 leather

We are delighted to offer for sale this exceptional, rare, and highly collectible swivel captain's chair, in antique Victorian style, created by George Hepplewhite in 1880. Fully restored with a hand-dyed brown leather seat cushion, this chair is truly exquisite and one of a kind. It features a cast iron mechanism from the late Victorian era, representing the pinnacle of technology of the time, with one of the first height adjustment systems. The leather has been cleaned, dyed six times, aged, and sealed. The oak frame has been stripped and carefully French polished. Dimensions: Height 102 cm adjustable up to 111 cm, Width 60 cm, Depth 51.5 cm, Seat Height 52 cm adjustable up to 61 cm. Please note that all measurements are taken at the widest point. The condition is good, with recent restoration, wear consistent with age and use. The hand-dyed leather may show natural patina with cracks, creases, and wear. It is recommended to regularly wax to preserve the moisture of the leather and to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.
