White leather upholstery Model created in 1956 Armchairs. Since its inception, there have been two official editions of the Lounge Chair: one American and the other European. The first has been manufactured by Herman Miller since 1956 and continues to this day. The second by Mobilier International under license from Herman Miller and then by Vitra. The shape of the bases differentiates them, as well as some manufacturing details. Originating from a prototype presented at the "Organic Design in Home Furnishing" competition at the Museum of Modern Art in 1940, the Lounge Chair was designed and produced in 1956 for the anniversary of director Billy Wilder. Dimensions: 81 X 84 X 67 cm. Mobilier International publisher. Armchairs No. 670 and an ottoman No. 671, the shell in rosewood veneer, the base in metal. Signature: Publisher's label on the chair.
