Gien: Glazed earthenware cache-pot with heraldic decoration – Renaissance style. Beautiful polychrome earthenware cache-pot, slightly ribbed and ovoid in shape, resting on a small annular base and featuring a wide flared neck. The decoration, particularly rich, stands out against a deep cobalt blue background. The main face is adorned with a crowned heraldic cartouche, surrounded by large polychrome leafy scrolls in the Renaissance style. At the centre is a winged putto on a light blue background. A frieze of stylised orange and blue flowers highlights the upper edge. The palette, combining cobalt blue, orange, green, white, and light blue, along with the historicist ornamental vocabulary, evokes French decorative earthenware productions inspired by Renaissance majolica, particularly appreciated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Height: 20 cm. Material: polychrome glazed earthenware. Decoration: fanciful coat of arms, winged putto, crown, scrolls, and floral motifs. Style: Renaissance / Neo-Renaissance. Period: late 19th – early 20th century. Condition: overall beautiful appearance. Manufacture: Gien.
