Vintage red / gold Chinese lacquer cabinet with flowers and birds

DESCRIPTION: A unique Oriental cabinet. These cabinets are from the 1970s, a period when Chinoiserie experienced a revival. This style originated in the mid-18th century, when entire castles were filled with Chinese and Oriental furniture and objects. During the 1970s, such furniture was made and no two are the same. All elements are applied by hand, always giving it an artistic touch. You can clearly see the hand-painted lines. It is painted and engraved on all sides, including the inside. The front and top depict birds and flowers with painted engravings. The sides and inside also show painted birds and flowers. After these paintings, everything is finished with lacquer. There are 2 cabinet spaces: the upper one, which used to house a TV, and a lower cabinet space. In the middle, there is an extra space that can be opened to the front. In short, a beautiful cabinet for enthusiasts. DIMENSIONS: Height: 170cm, Width: 105cm, Depth: 52.5cm. Upper cabinet height: 64cm, Cabinet width: 95cm, Cabinet depth: 46cm, Middle cabinet height: 22.5cm, Lower cabinet height: 35cm (removable shelf in the middle). CONDITION: Good condition, some scratches here and there, which is almost always the case with such cabinets. Many have been touched up and are therefore not noticeable.
