Antique desk Anbess oak secretaris vintage

Popular Abbess desk with double base, made of oak. These desks, often referred to as 'teacher's desks', have a unique history: this one comes from the private office of a manager at Toyota Cars in Warwickshire. The desk dates from around 1940 and is in excellent original condition, which is exceptional for a piece of furniture of this age. The internal locking mechanism of the drawers is still fully intact and functional. An ingenious spring mechanism locks all 6 drawers when the middle drawer is closed and locked with the key. It is very rare to find these original mechanisms still intact and working. To unlock all the drawers, simply unlock the middle drawer and push it out slightly.
