Stoneware pitcher signed Daniel Auger - Puisaye

Stoneware pitcher signed Daniel Auger. Slender silhouette, slightly tapered at the waist, with a flared neck, a pinched spout, and a large elegantly designed handle. Copper-brown glazing with chocolate hues and almost black drips. The olive green glazed interior provides a particularly successful contrast. Incised signature under the base: Daniel Auger. A ceramist who began his career in Accolay before settling in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye in 1973, where he took over the workshop of potter Jean Gaubier. Height 17.5 cm, base diameter 12.5 cm, handle length to spout 14 cm. Estimated capacity of about 1.3 liters. In beautiful vintage condition, with a chip on the upper edge, shiny (see photos). Deep shades and simple lines, between authentic craftsmanship and contemporary decoration.
