Grand French Louis XV Gilt Bronze Glass & Crystal 8 Light Cage Chandelier. The chandelier is designed in a four-sided cage formation, gracefully enclosing a central glass hanging ball and prism surrounded by eight small curved arms, each adorned with a hanging crystal. From the structure extend eight beautifully recurve bronze arms, four of which form part of the cage itself, creating a harmonious balance between structure and ornamentation. Each arm leads to a delicate flower-shaped candle drip holder, complete with beige acrylic candle sleeves that show light age-related wear. Above the cage sits a small decorative glass column, supporting eight additional small arms, each finished with sparkling crystals that catch and reflect the light from every angle. The piece is richly adorned with crystals in assorted shapes and sizes, culminating in a large glass ball finial suspended from the base. The chandelier is suspended from a matching decorative ceiling canopy via a bronze hanging bar, completing its refined and stately silhouette. The chandelier has French twin core braided wiring with some wear to the braid at the top but the wiring is intact. The chandelier takes 8 bulbs small screw in type E14s. The chandelier’s framework is solid, displaying a lovely deep aged patina that enhances its antique charm. The crystals are bright and free from cracks, with some minor nibbles that do not detract from their overall beauty. The glass column, prism and balls are in good condition, complete with no chips or cracks. The candle drips have some age-related marks and wear preserving the chandelier’s authentic character and elegance.
