Lustrous Gold Bronze & Bohemian Crystal with Six Lights Louis XV * Lucien GAU

Equipped with six lights, this charming Louis XV chandelier in patinated gilded bronze and Bohemian crystal combines a structure of great sobriety with numerous pendants. The central part consists of a finely crafted base adorned with decorative motifs of leaves and beads, and an upper element (called a shaft or vase) that is also decorated. A set of slender, unadorned volute-formed stems rise from the base to meet the upper central element. From the same central part, six arms, also slender and without ornamental motifs, formed in volutes, extend outwards, supporting at their ends as many candle holders via a petal-shaped basin. These basins (small bowls located at the base of the candle holders) are intentionally reduced to their simplest decorative expression. The whole is decorated with pendants cut in the shape of oak leaves and rosettes. The top of this exceptional chandelier is adorned with several pendants arranged in a crown.
