10 Light 5 Sided Bronze and Crystal Cage Chandelier

Very large Heavy Bronze and Crystal Art Nouveau 10 Light Cage Chandelier. The upper section is formed as a distinctive five-sided decorative cage. Flowing from the ornate central body, ten beautifully cast scrolling arms are enriched with acanthus leaf detailing and terminate in delicately shaped leaf-form candle drip holders, creating a wonderfully balanced and organic design typical of the Art Nouveau period. The chandelier is adorned with an assortment of hanging crystals that catch and reflect the light beautifully, while a faceted glass ball suspended from the lower finial provides the perfect finishing touch, adding further sparkle and sophistication. The chandelier hangs from a decorative ceiling fitter.The chandelier has French twin core braided wiring and takes 10 bulbs small screw in type E14s. Presented in good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its years, with some verdigris and cleaning residue.The candle drip holders show some age-related marks and wear, adding to the authentic character and charm of this beautiful antique piece. The faceted crystals are in good overall condition with no cracks, showing only minor nibbling to some edges consistent with age. Approximate Measurements. Height 85 cm. Width 65 cm.
