Vintage Italian Sintesi Terra folding floor lamp with tripod by Ernesto Gismondi for Artemide, 1970s.

Very rare and old version of the Sintesi floor lamp by the Italian manufacturer Artemide, designed by Ernesto Gismondi. The uniqueness of this Sintesi lies in the base, designed here as a flexible tripod. Later versions of the Sintesi Terra were equipped with a standard disc base. Otherwise, the lamp features the characteristic elements of the Sintesi series, including black uprights, a frame with a joint, and an aluminium reflector. The tripod gives the lamp a particularly delicate appearance while also offering great flexibility. The height of the lamp head can be continuously adjusted and fixed using a lever. The lamp can even be completely folded down to a convenient size for easy transport. The metal feet designed like wheels at the end of the tripod are striking. A green version of this Sintesi lamp with a tripod was also found in Dieter Rams' office at the HfBK in Hamburg. The lamp is in very good condition with signs of wear.
