Philips lamp model diplomat mid century design by louis kalff

Iconic lamp of Mid-Century Modern design. Model "Diplomat" (more commonly known as "Lamp Z"), Designed by the famous Dutch designer and architect Louis Christiaan Kalff for Philips Eindhoven in 1960. A luminaire with bold, geometric lines and a futuristic design, remaining in beautiful vintage condition, showing several signs of use, scratches, and small dents as seen in the photos. Its solid brass structure is beautifully patinated, reflecting its age. Ideally designed to accommodate a mirror cap bulb (E27), which projects light towards the white dome to provide soft, indirect lighting without glare.
