Old Indian furniture buffet damchiya

Indian buffet carved in solid wood. The damchiya was the traditional chest containing the dowry that the indian bride took with her to settle with her husband. It was made at the request of the bride's family, in anticipation of the wedding. Each piece is therefore unique! Traditionally these sideboards are painted in bright colors. This one was stripped, then bleached to give it a touch of modernity. It has a central door and drawer, as well as a trap hidden inside. This is a vintage piece, second-hand, traces of use are present, which contributes to its uniqueness and charm.
