Scandinavian mid century bookcase with a desk, Sweden 1960s

This elegant Scandinavian mid-century shelving unit with an integrated desk was made in the 1960s. Overall size is H: 168 / W: 114 / D: 45 cm. Its free-standing construction, supported by two solid wooden uprights, combines generous storage with a compact and discreet workspace. The combination of brass details and teak grain gives the piece a distinctive Scandinavian character. It has a lockable cabinet with an integrated pull-out desk. To the left of the cabinet are four drawers with beautifully matched grain on the fronts, where the pattern flows continuously from one drawer to the next. Above it are three shelves of different depths. Their depth gradually decreases towards the top, following the tapering form of the wooden supports and giving the whole structure a light, well-balanced appearance. Brass details on the wooden supports are complemented by the original brass hinges, adding a subtle decorative accent.
