Italian floor lamp model Mite Terra by Marc Sadler for Foscarini

Imposing floor lamp from the Italian manufacturer Foscarini based on a design by Marc Sadler from 2000. Here is the version with a standard E27 socket. An elegant design with a special materiality. The lamp's body is slender and made of a composite of fibreglass and yellow Kevlar threads, creating a pattern of surrounding lines. The shape tapers sharply towards the bottom and ends with a heavy plate base. It widens towards the top and is finished with a metal ring. The lamp primarily serves as a ceiling spotlight. The special material and the freely placed socket at the top also allow light to penetrate into the lamp's translucent body. A soft gradient of light downwards, the intensity of which can be adjusted using a dimmer, highlights the shape and materiality of the lamp. The Mite is not only a functional light source but also an impressive lighting object. The heavy plate base features another detail. It is chrome-plated and has a decoration of symmetrical grooves.
