An old and highly sought-after example of the iconic Luminator floor lamp, designed in 1933 by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte. Created at the height of Italian rationalism, the Luminator is a masterpiece of modern lighting design. Both sleek and architectural, as well as technically innovative for its time, it is characterised by a slender stem, resembling a column, rising from a minimalist circular base and diffusing indirect lighting that is both powerful and warm. The purity of its lines and the absence of ornamentation reflect the avant-garde aesthetic that made Fontana Arte a leader in modern lighting during the interwar period. This vintage model retains its original nickel finish, naturally oxidised over the decades to acquire a dark grey hue with subtle greenish reflections. The patina, uniform and rich, highlights the sculptural presence of the lamp while attesting to its age and authenticity. Its surface now exhibits a depth and softness not found on recently restored pieces. Both functional and sculptural, the Luminator lamp serves as an architectural light source, ideal for indirect lighting in living rooms, offices, or gallery-type interiors. It remains one of the most iconic and influential floor lamps of the 20th century. Dimensions: Height 190 cm, Diameter 30 cm.
