Antique wooden sloped desk, with a drop-down front and turned legs.

Charming sloped desk made of painted cherry wood, with a drop-down front and turned legs. Late 19th / Early 20th century. The entire piece is made of solid cherry wood, while the interior top is made of pine. It has a beautiful patina on the painted surface in a lovely water green, with chips and usage cracks. We have fully protected it with a triple layer of matte clear varnish. There are old signs of woodworm (completely stabilised). This desk is equipped with a lock, but the key is missing. The keyhole is adorned with a piece of gilded brass. Originally, it was meant to have a shelf or storage module that has also disappeared, but the corner strips intended to hold it remain. The interior top, which is very stained, has been completely cleaned and sanded. Some stains and ink marks remain around the edges (inside). The turned wooden legs are no longer perfectly square, but this does not affect the stability of the piece. This desk, with its old-fashioned and quaint charm, will add a lovely vintage country touch to your interior. Its simple and slender lines remain discreet and humble. It offers a large work surface suitable for both adults and children.
