A centerpiece of French Art Deco ceramics with bold cubist design. I am selling this superb vintage stoneware pitcher (jug/vase), an authentic work signed by the ceramic artist Gilbert Méténier, produced in his workshop in Gannat (Allier) between the 1920s and 1930s. This emblematic piece of the modernist period is characterized by its very architectural faceted polygonal shape (cubist inspiration) and its beautiful angular handle. It is enhanced by a flamed glaze with deep shades of brown, ochre, and black, typical of the Méténier workshop's craftsmanship. As aesthetic as it is functional, it fits wonderfully into vintage, bohemian chic, or contemporary decor, displayed alone as a sculpture or used as a vase for dried flowers. * Period: 1920s / 1930s (Art Deco Era) * Author: Gilbert Méténier (Gannat) * Material: Flamed glazed stoneware. * Style: Art Deco, Cubist, Brutalist, Modernist. * Condition: In very good vintage condition. Superb shine of the glaze (see photos).
