Antique stoneware soup tureen in Ratilly style – Puisaye

Antique soup tureen in turned stoneware, Ratilly style - Puisaye. Bulbous shape, slightly tapered towards the top, accompanied by two large ring handles and a conical lid with a circular knob. The turning lines, particularly visible on the belly and inside, highlight the artisanal work. Shiny ash gray glaze, shades of white, bluish gray, and brown, punctuated by fine speckles and lighter drips. The upper edge and the bottom reveal the reddish-brown color of the clay. On the lid, there is a small imprint resembling an owl, the emblem of Ratilly, partially submerged under the glaze. This mark, along with the manufacturing characteristics of the piece, provides a serious indication of its origin, though it does not allow for absolute authentication. Total width with handles 29 cm, height with lid 18.5 cm, 15 cm without lid. Weight approximately 2 kg. In beautiful vintage condition, the lid has a visible crack on its edge (see photos). A glaze with mineral shades and all the character of Puisaye stoneware.
