Louis XVI style marble center table

Small circular, high and round table (pedestal table), in finely carved gilded wood with a black marble top. This pedestal table easily becomes a small side table. We are in the presence of what is sometimes called, 'a "middle table". Very stable, it is placed on 4 legs with fine fluting, connected by a very beautiful X-shaped spacer elegantly worked and molded, topped with a flame ornamentation typical of Louis XVI decorations. The straight fluting of the 4 uprights in a certain way "geometrize" a whole which thus takes on the air of antique furniture. Here too, we are on pure Louis XVI imitating Greco-Roman art. Finally, the materials, combining golden colors of the wood with the veined black of the marble, complement each other made of wood and stucco also gilded. The black marble is beautifully veined, and embedded in the wood which forms a real belt extremely well carved too. Dimensions: Height 70 cm without marble. 71 cm with marble. Total diameter 50 cm. Marble 43 cm. Marble thickness 2 cm. Table requires restoration to regain its former glory.
