Antique carved oak chest

Superb antique chest made of solid oak, featuring a strong decorative presence and authentic charm. Inspired by Renaissance or Louis XIII period furniture, it stands out with remarkable sculptural work: a central panel in bas-relief depicting a character or an allegorical scene, framed by finely turned columns and rich friezes of intertwined foliage. Inside, it retains its precious small side storage compartment under the lid. This characterful piece is ideal for adding a touch of history, warmth, and authenticity to a contemporary or eclectic interior. The furniture has a superb old patina, a testament to its history. Please note (Transparency): The chest is sold "as is." It shows signs of wood-boring insect damage (woodworm), more pronounced on the feet and the base, which will require curative treatment and some structural consolidation. A perfect opportunity for enthusiasts of beautiful antiques or restoration.
