Dark brown 'AJ Royal' pendant lamp by Arne Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen, Denmark 1958

The iconic aj royal pendant lamp by louis poulsen is a design by the well-known danish architect arne jacobsen from 1958 for the sas royal hotel in copenhagen. It was a hot item in the 1960's and still a perfect dining area pendant today. The aj royal was, at least in holland, one of the most popular midcentury modern lamps in the 1960's and 70's. It gives an intimate shining since it is closed with the light going downwards, but also gives a nice soft upward spread of the light due to the top. This piece is a dark brown version and is in a good vintage condition with smaller signs of age and use.
