Philippe Starck, design as poetic act

Philippe Starck (born 1949) is the most internationally recognised contemporary French designer. For four decades, this prolific demiurge has signed everything: hotel interiors, sailing yachts, toothbrushes, lemon squeezers and, of course, furniture. His trademark? A joyful democratisation of design, where every object, from the humblest to the most iconic, tells a story. The Louis Ghost chair (2002), the Costes chair (1985), the Miss Trip table: all pieces that brought contemporary design into interiors without solemnity.

Philippe Starck chairs, whether edited by Driade, Kartell, XO or Vitra, have become contemporary classics. Louis Ghost, Costes, Masters, Lou Lou Ghost: all models to find second-hand for those wanting accessible, playful and already heritage design.
