Le Corbusier, the architect who designed armchairs

Le Corbusier (1887-1965) didn't just build the Cité Radieuse and Notre-Dame du Haut. With Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret, he also designed in 1928 one of the most defining seating collections of the 20th century. The LC2, the LC3 and above all the LC4 chaise longue: three pieces that still speak the language of modernism today. Tubular steel, leather, pure geometry: an inhabitable manifesto, edited since 1965 by Cassina and still produced identically.

The LC2 'Grand Confort' armchair and the LC4 chaise longue have become the most recognisable vintage furniture pieces of the 20th century. Original Cassina editions, particularly those from the 60s to 80s, are now sought-after references for collectors and modern design lovers alike.
