Superb set of two Maison Jansen brass floor lamps with reed and water lily decorations, one of the most iconic pieces from Maison Jansen from the 1970s. Maison Jansen lamps and floor lamps are truly special, the attention to every detail remains unmatched today. Each water lily, each reed leaf and each stem has been handcrafted, the cutting, welding, and torch finishing work giving the brass its nuances of color is truly superb. The reeds are flexible, and appear almost alive. The square base, a mix of polished and patinated brass, fits perfectly with the overall spirit of the piece, elegant and poetic. Four sockets and bulbs are arranged at each corner of the base, under the water lilies, and a powerful halogen is placed at the base of the reed. From a distance, the source of the light is not visible. These two pieces have been fully restored and re-wired, and are in exceptional condition. Incredibly rare as a pair with matching patina.
