Brown Bakelite desk lamp, model 11126, by Eric Kirkman Cole for Ekco, 1930s

This model is adjustable: the arm can be moved forwards or backwards, and the shade is also adjustable. The shade rotates around a Bakelite sphere that houses the lamp socket. Because the sphere is smooth, the shade must be tightened securely in place; otherwise, it may slide downwards. Maximum height: 40 cm. Width (shade diameter): 16 cm. Depth (length of the base): 22 cm. The lamp has been fitted with new wiring and a new plug, and it uses a standard large socket (E27). Origin: Czechoslovakia, 1930s. Material: Bakelite, cast iron.
