Very beautiful "hygienic table, with optional elevation" from the brand FERET. At the turn of the last century, FERET invented this so-called "hygienic" table (beyond the fact that the word was in vogue, I haven't found what made this table particularly hygienic) and "optional elevation" intended for "schools, studies, businesses or administrations." The tabletop indeed resembles a school desk with its groove, removable porcelain inkwell, and hidden drawer. Two small wooden pieces inside allow you to choose between the inclined position (for writing) and the flat position of the tabletop. However, it is a system furniture: by loosening the two brass butterflies on the legs, you can adjust the height of the tabletop and, as shown in the advertisement, be seated, standing, or half-bent to work. This also gives the table a rather striking appearance, losing all "schoolboy" character to become a noble piece of professional furniture. On the right leg, a metal label proudly proclaims: FERET TABLE Hygienic. Patented s.g.d.g. 16, rue Etienne Marcel, 16. PARIS Out of Competition. Jury member. Honorary Diplomas. This inventive table was apparently awarded a silver medal at a Universal Exhibition, which was an important distinction. Our table has been completely restored but has had a rich life over the last hundred years, leaving traces, marks, restorations, and creating a superb, very authentic, and rich patina. In fact, it combines undeniable history with a certain cleanliness, making it very decorative and usable in an interior. H: from 77 to 128 cm. W: 66 cm. D: 46 cm. The price is firm, thank you. Delivery in the Île-de-France area to your doorstep for 40 euros.
