Clam box, design Alan Fletcher, circa 1970, Mebel edition

Molded plastic Clam box designed by Alan Fletcher in the late 1960s, produced by Mebel in Italy. Made up of two identical shells that fit together using a notched system, this box combines simple lines with a pop aesthetic. The red and white contrast emphasizes its playful, symmetrical shape, directly inspired by Edam cheese. Signed under the base: "Mebel, Italy, des. A. Fletcher." Italy, circa 1970.
