Beautiful Khotan carpet from the early 20th century. Originating from the Xinjiang region in China, located on the Silk Road, the patterns are a synthesis of Eastern and Western creative influences: geometric elements, floral designs, and stylised plants. The very intense colours are also characteristic of this artistic centre: red, blue, and golden yellow. Made with very tight knots and high-quality wool, its touch is very soft, and this technique gives it great durability. Overall in very good condition for its age, only the fringes are a bit worn.
