Wassily chair by Marcel Breuer, Bauhaus design from the 1970s. France, in leather and chrome steel. A modernist icon with a curved tubular chrome steel frame and stretched black leather straps (backrest, seat, armrests). Lightweight silhouette, self-supporting structure, low and enveloping seat. Designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925–26 at the Bauhaus (model B3), the "Wassily" introduces the use of steel tubing inspired by bicycle handlebars. Its formal radicality – continuous lines, absence of massive volume, tensioned surfaces – makes it a manifesto of functionalism. The model has been produced over the decades (Thonet, Gavina, then Knoll) and widely distributed in the 1970s, the period of this version. Structure: tubular chrome steel. Upholstery: black straps/leather. Production: 1970s. An absolute Bauhaus classic: graphic, airy, easy to integrate into a contemporary or vintage interior.
