Ravissant painting from 1933 entitled "dance competition" signed charles bernard (1901 / 1991) and countersigned on the back with the inscription "concours de danse, pastel de charles bernard, paris 1933". The pastel on panel is framed and under glass. Superb old frame in wood and gilded and carved stucco. Depicts two little dancers in tutu looking through a curtain. A lot of candor and romance in this painting which is of a very good quality. Charles bernard is referenced on the sites of the art market. In excellent condition.
