Mid-Century Modern Swedish "Modernist Ballerinas" Vintage Figurative Oil Painting by Fabian Lundqvis

An outstanding mid-century figurative composition, executed in oil onto canvas by the established swedish artist fabian lundqvist (1913-1989), whose works have been represented in many public collections in sweden. The painting captures a scene of two ballerinas surrounded by an abstract background. On the ballerinas, rhe artist’s brushstrokes are gentle and soft, reflecting a careful attention to detail. Intentionally working with a limited colour palette, the artist has reduced the area around the ballerinas to angular planes in different gradients of brown... Details such as the small but striking red lips of the figures, as well as the layout of flat shapes and planes are typical of lundqvist’s style. This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary silver frame with an inner linen-lined border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some scuffs as shown in the close ups.
