Kerbigot wall ceramic from the 1960s. France. The Kerbigot Pottery (Guidel, Morbihan), a workshop founded in the 1960s by ceramist Jean-Claude Goualch (Nantes School of Fine Arts, 1958). The workshop is known for its wall ceramics and especially its glazed lava plaques (glazes fired at ~1000°C, very durable), a technique still practiced there today. Decorative plaques (owls, flowers, stylized motifs) signed Kerbigot/Kerbigot-Guidel, sometimes associated with Goualch's name, are regularly found.
