Pair of Art Deco marble and onyx bookends

A sublime pair of Art Deco period bookends (old mantelpiece decorations that most likely accompanied a clock), crafted from a superb blend of multicolored marble and green onyx. The geometric design highlights the natural contrasts of the materials: deep blacks veined with white, warm browns, and a luminous jade green insert. A 2cm-deep hollow space is located at the top of the bookends, allowing you to place small objects (stamps, paper clips, coins, jewelry, etc.) inside. Each piece is carved from solid blocks, giving them a significant weight (over 4.7kg), ideal for securely holding your large books in place while adding a sophisticated touch to your bookshelf or desk.
