Sculptural cocoon light – mid-century Goldkant wall & ceiling lamp by Friedel Wauer

Beautiful large cocoon-shaped ceiling or wall lamp from the mid-20th century by the German manufacturer Goldkant, based on a design by Friedel Wauer from the 1960s. This very special wall or ceiling lamp can be mounted directly to the wall or ceiling. In the centre is a copper disc with a screw connecting the lamp housing to the base plate. At the time, the manufacturer Goldkant was known for its diverse cocoon lamp designs. The lamp is in very good condition and has a beautiful patina; it comes with 3 LED bulbs included! This striking cocoon-shaped ceiling or wall lamp is a mid-20th century design produced by Goldkant and designed by Friedel Wauer. Originating from the 1960s, it represents the experimental and artistic lighting approach of the era, where form and atmosphere were just as important as function. The lamp features a softly textured cocoon shade, a central copper disc detail, and a versatile mounting system that allows it to be installed either on the wall or ceiling. It comes complete with three LED bulbs and is preserved in very good condition with a warm, natural patina that enhances its vintage character.
