Adjustable swing-arm wall lamp by artimeta, the netherlands, 1950s this striking wall lamp was produced by artimeta in the netherlands during the 1950s. The design combines a sculptural black-lacquered metal shade with an elegant chromed metal construction, displaying the functional yet refined modernism associated with dutch postwar design. The long double-jointed swing arm allows the lamp to be extended, retracted and positioned in different directions. The generously proportioned shade can also be adjusted, making it possible to direct the light precisely where needed. The contrast between the dark shade and the slender chromed frame gives the lamp a distinctive graphic appearance. The shade is remarkably well preserved and completely free from dents, which is rare for a lamp of this age. There are only a few very light traces of use along the edge of the shade, which are hardly noticeable.
