Large watercolor under frame representing the old bridge on the bevera in sospel (alpes maritimes), signed lower left g. Chappuis. Dimensions painting 45 X 53cm, in wooden frame and fabric style 1940s format 60 X 70cm depth 7cm. Gilding of the border to be restored. Protective glass. The fortified bridge on the river bevera was built in the xiii°, rebuilt in the XVI & XVIII centuries and destroyed by the germans in 1944. Rebuilt in 1952 it connects nice to piedmont through the roya valley and col de tende. The central tower is from the seventeenth century. Listed as a historic monument. Georges chappuis is a watercolor painter from nice born in the early twentieth century known for his mediterranean, provençal landscapes etc... Expressionist style. Packed weight 5kg.
